Can you really make good money going into the real estate buisness?

Hi there. I have never worked. I was looking into real estate which claims you don’t need any experience. Has anyone had any luck or good experiences from this? Is the money good? Thank you for reading this.

Historically you can make excellent money in the R/E business or mortgage lending. However times have changed the industry is inundated with mortgage professionals who have been laid off (which looks to continue through 2008-9) and you will be hard pressed to be hired against these seasoned employees. Or you will be offered commission only jobs which are not doing well currently. My advice look at other industries. If you’re still in school take advantage of a counselors advice. Nurses, Senior Assisted Living employees, Accountants, Law Enforcement would be excellent choices.
While it’s true you don’t need experience to start, you do need lots of it to be successful. Real estate agents don’t get a weekly paycheck. They need to sell to see any money and that’s harder then it sounds. Around 80% of licensed real estate agents can’t make a living doing it alone.
You can make a great living in real estate. Most agents however do not. If you don’t hustle your butt off you will starve.
Of every dollar earned by RE agents across the country, 90% of it is earned by 10% of the agents. That means the other 90 % of the agents are sharing 10% of the money.
